In efforts to keep the service running smoothly and to save a bit of time we will now be keeping a calendar of temple talks. If you would like to give a temple talk please let the office know the Wednesday before. If you have a future date that you would like to reserve you can let the office know that as well and we will put you on the calendar. We will be scheduling only 1 temple talk per service, unless there is an urgent need to pass on information from council or the call committee. The call committee will be updating us on the 4th Sunday of month.
More than half of all children in Monroe County are accessing free or reduced priced breakfast and lunch during the school year. With summer upon us, many of these children may not have access to healthy food. Thankfully, there are FREE summer feeding programs across the county where children can access healthy, nutritious meals for both breakfast and lunch.
These locations are truly collective community efforts, with local non-profits, churches, and school districts hosting sites, community members volunteering to help administer and distribute meals, and food costs covered by funding from the State. You can find a comprehensive list of summer lunch locations by visiting https://unitedwaymonroe.org/get-help or by calling 2-1-1.
This program is not possible without volunteers, so we need your help! If you are interested in volunteering to help deliver meals to children in need, contact Jennifer Strauch at: 570-629-5657, ext. 116, or by emailing her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
